Clarissa M., Ph.D.
Clarissa received her Ph.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), where she studied respiratory neurobiology and interdependence of neuromodulators in the central control of breathing. In addition to laboratory experience, she has been involved in clinical research, studying patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for two years with the University of Toronto's Department of Physical Therapy. She has extensive research experience using large animal models and is the author of several peer-reviewed publications. Clarissa has also written articles for the MCW Office of Public Affairs, targeting audiences of diverse scientific and non-scientific backgrounds. She is a member of the American Physiological Society and was a selected participant in the Society's publishing ethics course.
