Amanda H., M.S.
Amanda has extensive experience in technical project management. After earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, she worked several years for ExxonMobil Pipeline Company as a Field Engineer managing pipeline maintenance and construction projects. Deciding to hang up her hard hat in exchange for a lab coat, Amanda earned an M.S. in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University. At LSU, she synthesized and characterized a novel form of photocaged ATP, and she also enjoyed teaching freshman engineering students. Amanda continued her graduate studies at Baylor College of Medicine, where she integrated expertise from cross-functional laboratories to develop a preclinical lung cancer immunotherapy vaccine in the laboratory of Dr. Farrah Kheradmand. Her training also included clinical rotations at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, with a focus on clinical research. Amanda was recognized for her writing, editing, and communications skills while earning an M.S. in Translational Biology and Molecular Medicine. She joined BioScience Writers in 2014 as a Project Manager. Amanda's engineering and industry background provide a unique skillset adding value at the intersection of basic science research, clinical medicine, and technical writing. She is excited to offer client-oriented scientific editing, writing, and grant consulting services.
