Stacy G., PhD
Stacy earned a B.A. in biochemistry and chemistry from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota and completed her PhD in neuroscience at the University of Minnesota. As a graduate student, Stacy trained in neuro-oncology and neuro-immunology. Stacy authored a successful predoctoral NRSA fellowship from the NINDS to study glioma cell invasion in a new mouse model of brain tumors developed by Stacy and her colleagues. As a researcher at Baylor College of Medicine, Stacy earned a postdoctoral fellowship from the BrightFocus Foundation to study neural network dysfunction and repair in a new mouse model of early stage Alzheimer's disease. Stacy's research experience has spanned molecular biology, cell culture, mouse behavior, in vivo imaging, electrophysiology, optogenetics/chemogenetics, and microscopy.
