David R., Ph.D.
David received his B.A in chemistry from the Johns Hopkins University and his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. His graduate research, funded by an NIH Cancer Research Training Grant, focused on physical mapping of ribosomes in the process of transcribing protein chains. His post-doctoral work, funded by his NIH National Research Service Award Fellowship, studied a protein used to distinguish types of leukemia. He has worked in the medical diagnostics industry developing assays for infectious diseases, cancer, and genetic disorders. He has also taught bioengineering classes and consulted on SBIR grants for the electro-optics industry. His work has been published in Cancer Research, Am J Hum Genet, Clin Lab Sci, Hepatology, J Virol Methods and other journals. He is also a published contributor to BioWorld Perspectives.
