Claire R., Ph.D.
Claire R. received her B.S. in Biology from Duke University and then spent several years working for Celera Genomics, where she contributed to their human genome sequencing efforts. While working at Celera Genomics, Claire obtained a Master's degree in Biotechnology from John's Hopkins University. She then spent a year as a Biologist at the NIH. Claire received her Ph.D. in Cellular, Molecular, and Biophysical Studies from Columbia University in 2009 and conducted her postdoctoral training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center. Claire has published research related to developmental and pathological angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, pregnancy and function of the female reproductive tract, and breast tumorigenesis. Over the course of her training, she was awarded several competitive fellowships from the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Claire joined BioScience Writers in 2013. Her experience in academia and industry makes her an excellent resource for BioScience Writers' clients. As such, her position as Managing Editor allows her to serve as a primary point of client contact.
